A plethora of nature scenes are ready to be captured on canvas or photographed. Ample space to relax and write.
Dozens of species call the Grange and adjacent State lands home. With several feeders on the grounds of the Grange and the natural surroundings, there are endless birds to watch.
In addition to the nearby bike path, there are endless miles of single track, seasonal roads, and paved roads that cater to all skill levels.
Exploring into the surrounding State land and nearby nature preserves brings nature to a personal level. There are excellent opportunities for hiking, fat tire biking, horse back riding, and simply enjoying the beauty of nature in Northern Michigan.
If the elusive morel is your goal, strike out over the hills to the north east. Be on the lookout as these tasty morsels can be tough to spot. And yes, we’ll cook ‘em up for your breakfast, lunch or dinner if you are lucky enough to find them!

Going to the Beach
The Petoskey State Park beach is a Northern Michigan Treasure. Over a mile long sandy beach, clear water, sand dunes, and uninterrupted views of Little Traverse Bay. Trails, metal detecting, and limited water sports rentals are available during the summer months. A great spot to look for Petoskey Stones as well.
Riding the Beautiful Bike Path
The Little Traverse Wheelway offers 26 miles of biking, running, and walking on a 8′-10” wide non-motorized trail. With beautiful views of Lake Michigan, it’s a great way to get to know the area. This trail visits Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and Charlevoix. There are countless lookouts and scenic stops for a picnic.
Visiting Downtown Petoskey
Downtown Petoskey is only 10 minutes away and offers 130 unique shops & restaurants along with a delightful arts scene, concerts in the park, movies in the park, farmers market, and plenty of other in town activities.
